Forecast:

Today through Wednesday will be sunny and rather warm, with highs in the 90s. From Thursday onward, continuing mostly sunny and warm but with a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms, mostly east of Payson.

Additional notes for the weather nuts:

From September onward, the average location of the mid-level subtropical ridge starts to shift south again, spreading drier westerly flow over Arizona and ending our monsoon moisture. During September, it is possible for moisture from the remnants of tropical cyclones to occasionally push north into our region ahead of migratory troughs in the westerlies. This seems unlikely, however, during the forecast period.

Have a great week!

Mark.
