Weather Mostly Sunny, Warm & Dry Featured

Dr. Mark Sinclair September 07, 2021 105

Weather likely to be sunny, warm and dry this week.

Big Idea

  • The weather is projected to be sunny, warm and dry.
  • There MIGHT be a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
  • Storms are possibly coming east of Payson.
  •

It’s possible to get moisture in September, but not likely this week.

Mostly sunny, warm and dry, with just slight chances of thunderstorms later in the week.

Forecast Table:

Navigate on the map to your location and click for a detailed local forecast.

Today through Wednesday will be sunny and rather warm, with highs in the 90s. From Thursday onward, continuing mostly sunny and warm but with a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms, mostly east of Payson.

Additional notes for the weather nuts:

From September onward, the average location of the mid-level subtropical ridge starts to shift south again, spreading drier westerly flow over Arizona and ending our monsoon moisture. During September, it is possible for moisture from the remnants of tropical cyclones to occasionally push north into our region ahead of migratory troughs in the westerlies. This seems unlikely, however, during the forecast period.

Have a great week!
