More rain this week is expected
Forecast Summary:
A storm system is expected to impact northern Arizona on Wednesday, preceded by breezy winds on Tuesday evening. This storm will bring widespread rain on Wednesday, but snow levels will remain above 6000 feet. Thursday and Friday should be mostly sunny, but chances for showers will return for the weekend.
Monday-Tuesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the 60s, and southwest winds gusting to around 20 mph. Lows in the high 30s tonight and mid 40s Tuesday night. Winds will increase Tuesday night, gusting to around 30 mph.
Wednesday: Rain or showers with southwest winds gusting to 30 mph. A chance of thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon or evening. Highs in the low 50s and lows in the mid-30s.
Thursday-Friday: Mostly sunny and a little cooler, with highs in the upper 50s to near 60 and lows in the low 30s.
Saturday-Sunday: Slight chance of showers each day, with highs near 60 and lows in the high 30s or low 40s.

The storms of the last few weeks were associated with cold troughs diving south from the Gulf of Alaska. This week, a warmer west to southwest airstream has become established, bringing troughs and associated moisture from the central Pacific. The warmer temperatures have resulted in snowmelt and elevated river levels. Lynx Lake has been spilling water, with elevated river flow on Lynx Creek and the Agua Fria rivers. Other creeks have also been running at elevated levels. With between 0.5 to 1 inch of precipitation expected on Wednesday, these streams will continue at elevated levels.
