Get free at-home COVID-19 tests

Feeling a bit under the weather? Think you may have COVID-19? If so, you should probably get tested.

The government is offering up to 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests per family. You can go to this site: COVIDtests.gov and put in your order. You do not need to provide an ID, credit card or health insurance information. You may choose to share your email address if you want to receive updates on your order, but it’s not required.

According to the website, if you have health insurance, the insurance will cover the cost of up to eight over-the-counter at-home tests per person on the plan each month.

These tests are rapid antigen at-home tests. They can be taken anywhere. You should be able to see your results within 30 minutes.

The website suggests that if you test positive, you should follow the CDC guidance for Quarantine and Isolation. That information is here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html
