COVID-19 causes cancellation of the Whiskey Off-Road
PRESCOTT, AZ (January 28, 2021) – Organizers of the Whiskey Off-Road mountain bike event have notified City staff that the event has been cancelled for 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Event organizer Todd Sadow, with Epic Rides informed the City of Prescott earlier this week.
In an announcement to their 30,000 followers, here is what Epic Rides said:
With concurrence from our host communities, and in the interest of keeping everyone safe, Epic Rides will not produce the following 2021 events:
Whiskey Off-Road April 23 - 25 Prescott, AZ
Grand Junction Off-Road May 14 - 16 Grand Junction, CO
Carson City Off-Road June 25 - 27 Carson City, NV
This means Epic Rides will go at least 1.75 event cycles before resurfacing.
“We are disappointed, but we fully support Todd’s decision,” said Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli. “Whiskey Off-Road is an iconic event in Prescott each year, and we look forward to its return in 2022.”
Whiskey Off-Road 2020 was also cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2020 would have been the 17th annual event. For more information from Epic Rides, go to www.epicrides.com. For information about other events in Prescott, go to www.visit-prescott.com .
