Kids can visit Santa (Saint Nikolaus), enjoy the kids carousel, kids Ferris wheel, bounce house and the Kinder Korner activities tent. Santa will meet with children, plus, he will do storytelling and special performances. There will also be a traditional childrens lantern parade each night. All ages will enjoy wagon rides with Clydesdale Horses around the Courthouse Plaza, aglow with lights. There will be a variety of traditional German foods, as well as The Bier & Mulled Wine Garten.

The event will also feature a traditional German band, the Christkind Angel, plus an aerialist performing acrobatics, and choirs from local schools.

About the Christkind

TheChristkind, is a fairy princess-like character, dressed in gold and white robes with a crown upon her golden locks, and is the namesake of the Christkindlmarket. Christkind folklore dates back to the 1500s and stems from traditional customs: parades during the holiday season were guided by one “grand” angel, the Christkind. Since then, and still today, she is the bearer of gifts to most children in German-speaking countries, much like Santa Claus is in the United States. Traditionally, gifts are exchanged December 24th and delivered by the Christkind, who leaves them under the Christmas tree and disappears before the children can catch a glimpse of her.
