Internet down for Sparklight customers, time of repair is unknown

According to the Sparklight Twitter feed, a cut in the fiber line has caused a widespread internet outage across central Arizona. 

Outage alert: We are aware of an issue impacting services to customers in the Prescott, Cottonwood, Holbrook, and Show Low areas. Technicians are working diligently to get this resolved and restore services restored as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sparklight writes, "Note: Areas serviced by our Show Low, Prescott & Cottonwood offices include Pinetop, Navajo County, Snowflake, Taylor, Winslow, Holbrook Joseph City, Chino Valley, Ponderosa Park, Dewey, Humboldt, Mayer, Paulden, Cornville, Yavapai County, and Yavapai-Apache-Clarkdale."

Update: The cause of the service disruption has been identified as a fiber cut. We appreciate your continued patience as technicians work to splice and repair the damaged fiber.

Things to note: 

• Your cellular service should be working. If it is not, move to an area that is farther away from your local WiFi and try to get cell service from there. 
• To our knowledge, Cox customers are not affected, but we are trying to verify that.
