Prescott Valley Woman arrested by California Highway Patrol for Kidnapping Featured

A Prescott Valley woman has been arrested in conjunction with a kidnapping.
 
On Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 12:47 PM, Prescott Valley Police was notified of a kidnapping involving a child. 

The victim reported her daughter had taken her vehicle without permission along with the two children, ages 5 and 10 years old. The victim is the custodial parent of the 10-year-old child. 

Prescott Valley Police learned the mother was possibly headed to California with the two children and requested assistance from California Highway Patrol (CHP). CHP located the stolen vehicle, suspect and children. California Highway Patrol arrested the suspect in Indio, California and safely recovered the children and vehicle. 

The suspect, Erica Chantle Lunsford, age 36 of Prescott Valley, remains in custody in California pending extradition to Arizona. She was charged with Kidnapping and 

Unlawful Use of Means of Transportation. 

Due to the swift and thorough investigation by Prescott Valley Officers and the inter-agency cooperation this situation was safely resolved.
