The first Dangers of Technology & Social Media Workshop is held on Saturday, December 10th
MATFORCE and Mingus Union High School are joining forces to bring parents and community members a series of educational workshops through May of 2023. In the second workshop of the series, Brandon Bonnie will discuss the dangers of technology and social media for our youth. Social media is the currency of our children’s culture, and they often carry the connection to social media around in their pocket.
According to the latest research, 54% of teens say it would be hard to give up social media. Almost half of teens are online almost constantly because most teens have access to smartphones, computers, and gaming consoles.
Parents and community members will learn tips and talking points on how to communicate with youth, what is going on in our community, as well as how they can keep their children safe in this digital world.
