COVID-19 NEWS & NOTES
The ADHS dashboard to determine the level of community spread of COVID-19 in Yavapai County for the week ending June 26th indicates an increase in cases per 100,000 from 31/100k to 37/100K from the week ending June 26th, and an increase in percent positivity from 3.1% to 4.5%.

Symptoms of the COVID-19 Delta Variant appear to be different than the initial virus.
- Shortness of breath and other lung issues remain the most worrisome symptoms
- upper respiratory issues such as congestion, runny nose and headache seem to be more prevalent.
- It may seem like a very bad cold – and it is very contagious.
- The illness should not be brushed off as just a cold.
- Respiratory droplets emitted from coughs and sneezes can infect other, more vulnerable, people.
- Cases that start off mild can worsen and become more serious.
Vaccination remains the best protection against severe illness from COVID-19 and hospitalization.
