Users Asked to Use Caution and Obey Fire Restrictions
PRESCOTT, AZ (June 24, 2021) –City of Prescott recreation facilities, including parks, lakes, trails, and sports facilities will remain open for daytime use, through the upcoming holiday weekend. Here are some facts for citizens and visitors.
The City does not have additional capacity for RVs or campers who were displaced by recent closures on area National Forests. With the exception of some camp sites at Watson Lake, all city facilities are day-use only.

We ask that residents and visitors be extra cautious in the outdoors during this time and to always Recreate Responsibly:
- Plan Ahead & Prepare
- Stick to Trails
- Trash your Trash
- Leave What you Find
- Respect Wildlife
- Share the Outdoors
As a reminder, there is a County-wide fire ban, and the entire region is in Stage II Fire Restrictions. Here is what Stage II restrictions mean:
Stage II fire restrictions prohibit the following:
- Igniting, building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire.
- Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of any flammable material.
- Welding, or operating any acetylene or other torch with an open flame.
- Operating a chainsaw or other equipment operated by an internal combustion engine between the hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Discharging a firearm, except while engaged in a lawful hunt pursuant to state, federal or tribal laws and regulations.
