The Golden Plate Awards

The Golden Plates for 2021 will be announced at the Board of Supervisors meeting on March 2, 2022, and March 16, 2022. With everything that has gone on this year concerning the pandemic we have good news concerning most all local restaurants/food establishment are up and running and they are safe to eat at. The Golden plate is a list of food establishments that have gone above and beyond in their food safety endeavors. Please join me in congratulating the Golden plate award winners. The Golden Plate list is comprised of two categories, one for moderate risk factor and the other for complex risk factor food establishments. A total of 231 food establishments received the award for the year 2021.

To receive this award a food establishment must meet three criteria: 

1) Operate throughout the entire calendar year of 2021 without a cited priority or priority foundation violation (critical) food handling violation.

2) Have an approved and implemented food safety plan.

3) Have a person-in-charge with an accepted and current manager-level food safety certificate through-out the year.
