Thompson’s term started December 1st

On September 9, 2022, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors voted to appoint Maury Thompson as the next Yavapai County Administrator.  On December 1, 2022, Mr. Thompson officially began his career with Yavapai County and joined the Administration team at 1015 Fair St., in Prescott AZ. 

Mr. Thompson comes to Yavapai County from Johnson County, Kansas, where he was the Deputy County Manager since 2017.  Prior to that he served as the Assistant County Manager and Executive Director of Johnson County Developmental Supports. 

Mr. Thompson has a Master of Public Administration from Park College Graduate School of Public Affairs, Kansas City, Missouri.  

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chair, Mary Mallory said, “I look forward to seeing what Mr. Thompson has to offer Yavapai County and am sure the County Administration team will make his transition successful.”
