The Prescott Valley Police Department, in partnership with the Arizona Office of Attorney General, conducted a “Shred-a-Thon & Prescription Drug Take-Back Event” at the police department parking lot on Saturday, June 26, 2021. During the four-hour period, a total of 20,250 pounds of paper was shredded; 87 pounds of prescription drugs, and 15 pounds of prescription liquids were received for destruction. Over 200 vehicles passed through the event. Special thanks go to Prescott Valley Volunteers in Policing personnel who assisted with traffic control and handling of material.
The Prescott Valley Police Department has a prescription drug drop-off point located in the lobby of the police station, which is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Liquids, powders, and creams must be in their original containers. Pills may be in their containers or mixed in plastic bags. No needles or inhalers are permitted.
Keeping pills out of the hands of abusers helps keep our community safe. If you are aware of any drug abuse, please contact your local law enforcement.
