The Case of the Missing Sculpture

Big idea 

  • It’s been over a month since the metal sculpture was reported missing
  • The Sculpture is named “Angelica”
  • It was created by local Tucson Sculptor, John Benedict
  • It stands over 6 feet tall and weighs between 200-220 pounds. 

On Sunday, May 31st, 2020, deputies responded to the Hacienda Del Sol Resort, located at 5501 North Hacienda Del Sol Road, for a theft. When deputies arrived, they learned that a metal sculpture had been taken from the property sometime between 7:30 p.m. on May 30th and 6:00 a.m. on May 31st.   The Sculpture was being displayed as a free drive-through exhibition at the Guest Ranch. The Sculpture, named “Angelica,” is the creation of local Tucson Sculptor, John Benedict, stands over 6 feet tall, and weighs between 200-220lbs.

Detectives have taken over the investigation and are asking for assistance in identifying the suspect.
