Coconino County jail currently has inmates that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Big Idea

  • Coconino County Detention Facility in Flagstaff has seven inmates that tested positive for COVID-19
  • No staff members currently have COVID-19 at the Detention Facility
  • No inmates or staff members at the Page facility have tested positive to date
  • The Jail has instituted a 14-day quarantine for all inmates before they are moved to the general population

Dave Dorn, from KAFF News reports that there are currently seven inmates that test positive for COVID-19 in the Coconino County Detention Facility located in Flagstaff. None of the staff members are currently positive for the infection.

All in all, since the virus has been detected in Coconino County, 59 inmates and 13 staff members have tested positive at the Flagstaff location. At the Page location, there has not been any outbreak of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

In order to mitigate the virus, a 14-day quarantine has been established for new inmates before they are released into the general population.

Both inmates and staff are required to wear masks in most situations.
