The Council will vote on Tyler Goodman’s appointment as Interim City Manager tomorrow morning at a Special Voting meeting.  The Voting Meeting will take place at the Marina Room at The Hassayampa Inn immediately before the Strategic Planning Workshop which begins at 8:00 AM.

On February 14th, the Council interviewed three additional candidates provided by a placement service out of Scottsdale called Interim Public Management (IPM), LLC.

Those candidates were Jerene Watson, Danny Sharp and former Prescott City Manager, Steve Norwood.

They also considered appointing Joe Baynes, the current City of Prescott Recreation Services Director as Interim City Manager.  After considering their options, Council decided to appoint Goodman, Deputy City Manager and Acting City Manager to the currently open position of Interim City Manager.  This position was recently vacated by Katie Gregory who resigned and received an undisclosed settlement on December 20, 2023.

Goodman has been employed with the City of Prescott since 2016. He will receive a 10% increase to his salary during this time in office.  Goodman’s appointment will be effective immediately.

The contract with IPM cost the City $1,900.  It is not known if the interview process incurred any other additional costs.

The Special Voting Meeting will not be streamed or recorded.
