The Prescott City Council will be busy today, with four meetings on their calendar.

  • The Prescott Council will have four meetings today, including a Workshop Meeting, an Executive Session, a Study Session and a Voting Session
  • Topics include: AED, Opioid litigation (in the Executive session), the Compensation Study Findings & Recommendations

It’s the week before Thanksgiving, and the Prescott Council is cramming as much into today as possible.

Workshop 9:30 AM

The Agenda for the Workshop is here.

Starting at 9:30, the Council will hear from Sarah Murley of Applied Economics, LLC, related to the proposed AED Annexations.

There will also be a discussion of the comments received during the 60-day Public Comment Period and another overview of the proposed AED Annexations and the North & South Master Plans. 

Executive Session 11:30 AM

 During their closed Executive Session, the City Councilmembers will receive an update on the City of Prescott Opioid Litigation.

During this Study Session, the Council will discuss the Total Compensation Study Findings; basically pay rates for City employees.

First, the Council will hear a proclamation for the Small Business Saturday, which happens on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. 

Next, they will approve the Consent Agenda, which includes the approval of Minutes from November 10th meetings. 

There is also an approval for the purchase of a City-Wide Generator Maintenance and Repair item in the amount of $80,830.

And the City will approve an intergovernmental agreement for Cooperative Wildland Fire Training. 

Regular Agenda, Voting Items

A. Approval of City Contract for the purchase of Two Side Loader Curb Tenders. Total price, $634,246.

B. Approval of City Contract with Arizona Communications Network* for a one-year Professional Services Agreement for Provision of the City of Prescott Government Channel Broadcasting, Government Programming and Government Social Media Content in an amount not to exceed $78,000.

*Editor’s Note: Arizona Communications Network is also owned by the parent company for CopperState News. It is an entirely separate division.

C. Adoption of Ordinance No. 2020-1735 Amending the City Code by adopting new sections relating to the regulation of recreational marijuana, in light of the new law passed in the November 3 election.

D. The approval of additional funding for the Granite Creek Corridor Master Plan Implementation. Cost: $520,000

E. Appointment of Mayor Pro Tem.
