A deputy-involved shooting is being investigated by DPS

On November 7, 2020 at approximately 6:50 PM, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to scene of a disturbance in the Village of Oak Creek on Cathedral Rock Drive. Upon arrival, a Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputy encountered an armed suspect and was involved in a shooting. The suspect did not survive the shooting. No deputies were harmed during this encounter. Per protocol, Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Shoot Investigation Team was called to investigate.
