PRESCOTT, AZ (June 11, 2021) – Prescott Regional Airport is inviting the community to a unique behind-the-scenes opportunity to see the new passenger terminal on Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 8:00 to 11:00 AM.
Attendees will have access to explore all public spaces and the passenger waiting area – which usually requires an airline ticket for entrance. Experience the new terminal, enjoy snacks, and receive commemorative souvenirs.
Designed by DWL Architects and Dibble Engineering, construction commenced in January 2020, led by Willmeng Construction Inc., a Phoenix-based commercial general contractor and Fann Contracting, a Prescott-based heavy civil construction company. The new 18,474 SF passenger terminal opened on March 30, 2021, replacing the 1940s terminal. United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines, continues serving passengers in the region with daily non-stop flights from Prescott to Denver and Los Angeles.
With the addition of the new passenger terminal, commercial service apron, baggage handling system, vehicle parking and roadway, residents of Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Chino Valley, Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome, Chino Valley, and Sedona can enjoy an enhanced travel experience.
The Federal Government has issued an order that requires masks which cover both the mouth and nose for passengers, visitors, and employees in the airport terminal, on commercial flights, and on airport property.
