$7.5 million Sunset Lane Project complete, road to open by Friday evening
Big Idea
- The Sunset Lane Project cost $7.5M
- Sunset Lane has been under construction since May of 2019
- In addition to new sidewalks, the project includes widening, paving and installation of storm drains.
- The Sunset Lane Project was a joint project of the Town of Prescott Valley and Yavapai County
The Town of Prescott Valley has announced that the Sunset Lane Project, which includes widening, paving and installation of storm drains and sidewalks on Sunset Lane from Pine View to Prescott East Highway, is complete. After striping on Friday, signs will be removed and the improved roadway will be open.
Construction began in May 2019, after utility providers worked through the prior year to move and prepare infrastructure in the area. Prescott Valley partnered with Yavapai County through an intergovernmental agreement to pay for the project.
Extensive storm drain additions are expected to improve water drainage from major storm events. Sidewalks will improve pedestrian safety, and turn lanes will facilitate safer access to side streets.
The Town asks drivers to observe speed limits in the area, as it still is a residential street.
